For this Business Spotlight, we catch up with Billy of Black X Apparel.

What does your business offer?
Clothing, apparel and accessories geared towards entrepreneurs and self-employed dream chasers, and their supporters.

How does your business use Dataczar?
I use Dataczar for hosting my online store, making it easier to sell across different platforms, and for online marketing. This is my third time using Dataczar, The first two times were for practice as I wasn’t using the site to its full capability, but this time around I’ll get it right.

What inspired you to start your business?
Like I stated earlier, this is my third attempt at a website. My first was my transportation service; my second was an attempt to sell "I survived 2020" T-shirts. This time around it’s Black X Apparel brand. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. All of my 9 to 5 jobs usually end with staging a protest or a strike - LOL. I’m full of Brilliant Ideas, so I want to create a stream of passive income to lighten the load of my day to day survival. I hope this becomes successful enough to give me the freedom to dream up my next great endeavor.

What is your business' biggest win (proudest moment)?
As I type this, my E-Store has been open for one day. By the time this is published, I will have more success and big moments to report on. One thing I can say is that I wore one of my shirts to a local bar, and was stopped by strangers who told me they loved it and asked where they could find it. That’s what hyped me up to go through with it, because at that moment doubt was starting to creep in. That was just the encouragement I needed to follow through.

What was your business' biggest challenge?
So far it looks like it’s going to be marketing. Setting up the business was very tedious. I had to work around my day job schedule, but once the infrastructure is in place the business pretty much runs itself. Again, by the time this is published my answer may be different.

Tell us something interesting/fun about your business.
My Apparel Line was created specifically to promote positive images of Urban Culture. Between Music and Entertainment most of our portrayals are negative, and to combat those images I wanted a cool apparel line for Entrepreneurs. It’s something to be proud of and showcase. Hopefully it will encourage and inspire People to become more Business Minded.

What’s the most popular product/service that you offer?
So Far Everyone seems to Love the 1099ers T-Shirts and Hoodies.

Anything else you would like to share about your business?
My Best advice is just to start your Business Journey Fearless. It’s gonna be a rough journey but also so rewarding to watch your business grow and your dreams come true. I’m Rooting for you all!
